The Fulfill The Promise coalition is exited to learn that for the first time ever, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights will conduct its data collection of students’ educational experiences for two years in a row. One of the campaign goals of the Fulfill the Promise Coalition, and a demand in our Class Petition for Guidance with the Department of Education, was for the Office for Civil Rights to collect accurate data on special education services annually, rather than inconsistently every two years.

While much work remains to be done, this is a huge victory for the Fulfill The Promise campaign, and for special education students everywhere.
